In this concert presented by the Helsinki Chamber Choir and the Finnish Baroque Orchestra, colourful and exciting madrigals for voices and instruments by 17th-century composers Claudio Monteverdi and Barbara Strozzi explore love with all its highs and lows, humour, joy, passion and pain. In these theatrical works - just a small step from opera - the genre of the madrigal has come a long way from its origins as music for the home.
